THC is already proving to be an asset to the medical world by being prescribed in pill form. These pills are being prescribed to cancer patients undergoing chemotherapy treatments to reduce nausea. Another medical advantage of the THC based medication is prescribing it to patients suffering from wasting syndrome caused by AIDS. Wasting syndrome causes a patient to lose 10% of their total body weight in a short period of time, can be both fat and muscle, and is very difficult to regain. Due to this syndrome, the person may easily get full or have no appetite at all; this THC medication is designed to increase appetite to help counteract this disease. Among these examples medical marijuana is also used to treat; glaucoma, epileptic seizures, Dravet’s Syndrome, stop cancer from spreading, decrease anxiety, slow progression of Alzheimer’s disease, pain control and muscle spasms, inflammatory bowel disease, relieves pain from arthritis, PTSD and the list goes on. The physical effects marijuana has on the body is not more dangerous than that of smoking tobacco or drinking alcohol. If anything it is better than alcohol as you cannot get marijuana poisoning (overdose) and die as you can with alcohol.
