Piaget 's cognitive development theory revolves around schemas in which bricks of information were used to build up a wall of knowledge. The knowledge needs to be adjusted to and changed according to new experiences to find the equilibrium between conflicting pieces of information. Equilibrium happens either by adding new information to the existing knowledge of a schema or by changing the entire schema to accommodate a new piece of information. Vygotsky also is a constructivist similar to Piaget but he added more to the theory. In Vygotsky 's theory scaffolding is used to help a student get into the zone of proximal development. The way scaffolding works is like giving a student a boost in the right direction so they may learn new and challenging material more easily if it is within reach of …show more content…
"The ecological systems theory holds that we encounter different environments throughout our lifespan that may influence our behavior in varying degrees. These systems include the micro system, the mesosystem, the exosystem, the macro system, and the chronosystem." (Sincero 2012). People all need to learn almost everything they know how to do right now such as walking, talking, writing, and putting thoughts together. There may be a few people who think and learn faster but it’s a combination of nature and nurture. Effort and talent are combined to form a single person and either side can be more or less to form a balance between the two. Bronfenbrenner 's microsystem and macrosystem depicts the influences to an individual such as environment, culture, and the kind of individual. At younger ages the biggest influences are parents, family, teachers, and friends while later on it progresses to social issues, money, and culture. Everyone differs a from each other but the influences are usually the same kind if they are of similar age. Most children are influenced by the macrosystem by the time they understand culture, and socioeconomic issues. I learned about some of these issues addressed in the macrosystem at a younger than average age since I grew up in a poorer neighborhood riddled with violence. My parents are the biggest influence in my life so their parenting style
