The only form of proof to support the claims made in this article are quotes from the main researcher on the scientific study. Adding these quotes makes the lay article seem credible. The weaknesses of this article are that it does not have any scientific proof to support the claims made. Another weakness is that the claim that one glass of wine is the same as one hour at the gym is not what was found in the research study. The lay article was easily readable, whereas the scientific article takes a pervious understanding of concepts and re-reading the article to understand what is being said. The information provided in the lay article is mostly quotes, whereas the information provided in the research article uses statistical tests and measurements. While both are meaningful, the amount of meaning might be different for different individuals. Someone who is scrolling through Facebook and sees the lay article might find the quotes meaningful. On the other hand, another individual might find the statistics and research article more meaningful. Personally the research article offers more meaning for someone who is educated with more than a high school
