Capital punishment is the punishment by death for a crime. It is also called the death penalty. It is a form of killing that is legalized. It may be carried out by electrocution, hanging, lethal injection, gas chamber, and firing squad. The death penalty has been banished in over one hundred and thirty countries. Capital punishment has been abolished in every industrialized nation except for the United States of America. In the United States, capital punishment has been an extremely controversial issue that divides the country and it leads to disharmony. The death penalty abolition movement is growing, and some progress is being made, but there is a lot of work yet to be done. There should be no disputation on whether the death penalty should be abolished, especially after it is quiet certain that it claims the lives of innocent victims, barbaric, and it is utterly useless. It serves no good purpose. In the United States, It creates uprising among the supporters and the people who oppose it. Human life is so valuable, regardless of ethnic, race, and nationality, therefore, no one should be executed under any circumstances. However, the predicament is that many people are not aware of the unfairness involved. Amnesty International campaigns around the world to open the eyes of people whom might not be oblivious to it. This is very significant because knowing about it might change their minds. Since Amnesty International leaks it globally, there will be uproar in other countries; afterwards, the United States would have to abolish it.
One propitious tactic that is used by Amnesty International is educating campuses and communities about the unfairness of the United States’ judicial system especially towards the death penalty, because most people are not aware of the partiality that is practiced in the United States judicial system, and some do, but they just act oblivious to it if does not pertain to them. Public support for capital punishment in the United States is very strong. It seems like more people support the death
