It was one of the best days this summer. It was a cool day in June when my family and I traveled to the airport to go to Las Vegas, Nevada. I was very excited to go to Las Vegas because I had seen how cool it looked on the movies and TV shows, and now I was finally going to be able to see it in person. Las Vegas is the setting in my favorite movie series, The Hangover, and I wanted to see all the places in Las Vegas that are in The Hangover movie series. We got to the airport and did all the pre-flight criteria before boarding our flight to Houston, which would eventually lead us to the Sin City. The flight to Houston was very painful, as I forgot to bring gum so my ears were aching most of the time due to the altitude. We got off the flight …show more content…
Once we got out of the car, the smell of Las Vegas was brutal. The air is filled with tobacco and tobacco is an unpleasant smell. We went straight to bed once getting to our room because it had been a long day. The next day we slept in very late as the previous day was very tiring. After getting breakfast and ready to go, we headed out on Las Vegas Boulevard, also known as The Strip, and began our journey exploring Las Vegas. Seeing the massive casinos like the MGM Grand and Caesar’s Palace was very surreal, as words can not describe how massive these structures were. The Strip was very busy with people looking to have a good time, and the vibe was very exciting. We saw the chapel where Stuart Price from The Hangover got married and where Eddy got …show more content…
He did many things that you would not even believe was possible. After that excellent show, we went and saw the Bellagio Fountains, one of the main attractions out many in Sin City. The Bellagio Fountains were not as cool as I thought they would be. I believed they would go a lot higher than they actually did, but it was still pretty cool to see. After seeing the fountains, we headed back to our hotel to go to sleep for our last night in Vegas. Before going to bed, we took an elevator to the observation deck at The Stratosphere. The observation deck was very high (not literally in The Stratosphere) and showed a good view of the whole Las Vegas Strip. This was also very cool to see because you could see all of the casinos and large buildings that Las Vegas had to offer. After seeing that, we went to sleep and the next morning we headed out of Las Vegas after a very fun

Excitement was running through my body. Although it took forever to get here I wanted to stay there for a while, the lights were amazing as the neon lights of the Las Vegas strip were lit up and very beautiful. Many people walked through the stores, or outside them enjoying the lights. I saw a roller coaster next to a castle, A hotel I suppose, and A giant black pyramid. Every morning, I make a cup of café con leche and tune into channel 5’s jingle of Matt Goss’ “Lovely Las Vegas” at 5 am before I get ready to make my way Downtown — a modern piece of the desert amidst the heart of the valley. As I look up at the street after struggling to untangle my headphones on my way to the bus top, I encounter new faces and wonder where they are going. My destination is seeing the sunrise appear with the silhouette of the Stratosphere Casino on one side of the field and the Downtown skyline on the other as the bus drops me off on 7th Street to complete my long morning routine – only to repeat the same journey the next day. There are days in which I would like to skip out on my morning walks to catch up on a couple minutes…

Two thousand five hundred eighty-seven. I could take an eight-hour flight or a casual thirty-seven-hour drive, but no matter what, I am still two thousand five hundred eighty-seven miles away from my home in New Haven, Connecticut. Being a college freshman, trying to juggle class, homework, projects, studying, sleeping, eating, and athletics; finding the travel time to go home is an almost impossible task. Add in the cost of the $600 flights round trip and there is no chance a student can go visit home when they feel a little homesick. I on the other hand had never even fathomed being homesick from the frozen tundra I called home.…

In this photograph, a young boy wearing a bubbly bright blue shirt shamelessly flashes a rather tooth lacking smile for the camera. His arms and legs are crossed while he sits on a tiled bench under an ominous and cloud speckled sky. Behind this young boy rests a little girl wearing a tomato red complexion. She is adorned with a shiny silver necklace and a shirt that literally screamed summer. Under her resting hand laid cold tiles that would leave an imprint of the frigid shapes that pressed against her soft skin.…
