In the passage “Plug your oarsmen's ears with beeswax kneaded soft; none of the rest / should hear that song. / let the men tie you in lugger, hand / and foot to the mast, lashed to the mast, / so you may hear those harpies’ thrilling voices; / shout as you will, begging to be untied, your crew must only twist more line around you and keep their stroke up till the singers fade (Homer 12, 59-67).” Odysseus and his crew come upon the sirens. He uses the advice that he was given from Kirke and plugs his or men's ears with beeswax. Along with this he also has his crew tie him to the mast of the ship, through doing this we see how much control he has over his crew. He had them plug their ears with the wax and they listened to him with respect. Odysseus also had lots of control when he had the crew tie him up when they went through where the sirens were. He knew that by doing these things he wouldn't lose any of his men to the singing beauties, yet he would still be able to show off and say that he heard the sirens.
All things considered, Odysseus is an exceptional leader with a brilliant mind, soul, and heart that is committed to his crew as well as his family.
