Purpose
Performance in school is very important to employers today. A student 's overall grade point average can determine if they get a job or not. The way students spend their free time outside of school can have a major impact on how they perform in school. Some activities that students tend to do outside of school are, but not limited to, working, hanging out with friends, homework, and sleeping. The goal of the survey was to determine how much time students should spend doing these activities in order to produce the overall best GPA.

The questionnaire was handed out to 53 Western Michigan University students. The questionnaires were given to classes at both the College of Engineer and Applied Science and Western Michigan University Main Campus. A copy of this questionnaire can be found in Appendix A. The majority of these questionnaires were taken five minutes before a class. The students were asked to quickly, but to be honest, when filling out the form before class started. Once the form was filled out, students were asked to place it face down on the surveyor’s desk in order to keep it anonymous. The survey was conducted between the weeks of October 19, 2015 and November 9, 2015. The survey was conducted in such a short period of time so that the data could be analyzed in Microsoft Excel and put into a word processed
