In more recent years, the Transportation Security Administration has offered an expedited screening process called Pre-Check. This process allows passengers to leave on their footwear, outerwear, and not have to remove any items from their personal carry-on bags. Before my realization of how important airport security was, I was all in favor of this specific screening process. However, now I just question it. When this process started, random passengers would get selected for Pre-Check. As of July 19th, 2013, any passenger can purchase a ten-year enrollment in TSA Pre-Check. Personally, I believe that this process can lead to more attacks. Since you do not need to remove essentially anything, it may be possible for an individual to pass through security armed in some way. I also thought about how it seems as if people have forgotten about the incidents that have happened in the past. Why would TSA make it easier and offer a less strict screening process for anyone? Also, TSA lines are longer now than they have ever been. In early 2016, the Transportation Security Administration had a lack of funding and a third of all employees were laid off. With fewer TSA officers, there are fewer people to provide an adequate screening process. It all makes me question if TSA is going backward in airport security. Will it take
