However, when that did not succeed then he married Glance so he could be king in Corinth. Jason never loved either of the women, while Medea and perhaps even Glance loved him unconditionally. Both the works were set in a time where marriages were arranged and both Othello and Medea chose their mate and end up either killing them or someone that mattered to them. Othello was a military general and probably had many encounters with women but none that he loved as he did Desdemona. He most likely spent many of his years back in forth in war and moving up the ranks to general is no easy task especially for a black man, he had no time to settle down.
