Importance Of Following Orders In The Military

Improved Essays
Following orders is important in many views of life, not just a career. If someone does not follow orders, many times the entire team will fail because of that one error. Furthermore, lying to protect yourself from being the blame of the fail can affect your career in the long run. A career is not just something you do every day to get by, but it is something you do because you enjoy doing it. To be honest is to be free of deceit and untrustworthiness. While choosing a lie to those closest to you is a choice. Sometimes that choice can work in your favor but other times it will not. For example (myself blatantly lying to my friend about an essay I wrote but he was trying to look out for me) is a prime example in this case the outcome was not …show more content…
The army is important to me it gives me a sense of family and make me feel like in a part of the team. I don’t mind the pay in the army it gives me a sense of independence and makes me feel like I can spend on what I want and what I need to use to get through until the next check. The army has also has it good and bad experiences like deployment. Deployment can be only on how the person can make it like for example myself I made it hard on myself and the people I worked with because of how I lied and hindered the mission when we were being replaced. The other side was it was a good experience to see how life was in deployed environment like Afghanistan, experience some places on the road to and from Afghanistan like the food, people and the views. The army slowly everyday teaches me on to become a better person and …show more content…
you find telling the truth way more easier than it is to tell the lie or “sweet talk” your way out of it. Lies no matter how big or small are going to add up and get much more confusing in the end. When speaking out on the truth its half of most people’s instinct or in my cases it’s not, but after a while and you focus on not telling lies it becomes nearly too almost impossible to lie .Someone or something gives it away and they are left already knowing. Like for example if there was a surprise dinner for someone at work and the person you are throwing a surprise to ask what are you doing for the weekend you say I have this surprise dinner I have to go to and you were just being honest and everyone was trying to be secretive about. If you are an honest person most people will come to you about information or feedback. You can be the most dependable person on advice. You can be brutally honest about anything you don’t usually “ beat around the bush “ on problems you’re usually on top of the problem and solving it then and there or usually look up ways to help solve it with others. If you hate lying but you are just being honest about good or bad news on bad news its rough to be “the bearer of bad news” instead of sugar coating it .With honesty everything is more black and white without the grey shady areas in between. If you have something to say that you don’t believe in just be

If you ask most people do you think lying is acceptable, majority of them will not hesitate and tell you yes, and then give you multiple reasons on why lying is a bad thing. But if you actually sit down and think, everyone lies several times a day sometimes without even knowing it because the lie was so small and meaningless. But in other occasions people lie to protect things they care for and about they are also willing to accept the consequences behind their lies and actions. Some may even feel that lying at that point of time it was acceptable due to the situation they are put in. In the short story “Someone Ought to Tell Her…

Having the honor to serve in the Army is one of the most rewarding vocations I can think of. Not only will I be protecting the people of this nation, but also I will be defending it’s virtues, and upholding the tenets that make America truly great, namely freedom. I have always considered myself a true Patriot, and attending West Point and serving my country will prove the extent of my patriotism. My entire life, as short as that may seem to some, I have striven to better myself, improve my core values and sharpen my mental strength. As a younger adult achieving the rank of Eagle in scouting helped me focus on these efforts.…

Why Is It Ok To Lie

Is it ok to lie in any situation, or is it just wrong to lie at all ? In four articles that I read, it states a couple of things, for example, they talk about lying and if it's bad, is lying sometimes good, and is lying good. I believe lying is only good sometimes and it should only be used in white lies. I think a good time to lie is when you protect someone. One scenario of this is the story of Ann Frank.this is a good example because they were protecting Ann and her family by saying that there was nothing upstairs.…

Why are orders important to the military lifestyle? Let me start answering this question by giving the definition of an order from the Merriam Webster Dictionary. Military Order: A command proceeding from a military superior. After hearing this definition many people immediately jump to the complaining and judging stage of following instruction. Comments such as, “Why would I follow one man’s opinion,” or “only certain orders apply to me,” are common place among lower ranks in the military.…

Most people will say that lying is never the answer, but they don’t always tell why. Lying often ends unethically, not only the can the lier be punished or feel guilty in the process, but it often goes further than anticipated. When looking back there seems to be more consequences on the result of the pretense than what the reward would have been if everything worked out and there was no lying. The Salem Witch Trials, the McCarthy Trials, and the McMartin Trials all proved that it is important to always be honest, regardless of the sacrifice.…

In the essay The Ways We Lie by Stephanie Ericsson, she mentions on how she discovered that telling the truth all the time is nearly impossible because it would be living with some serious consequences. Throughout the history of the United States and other parts of the world, a high percentage of people tend to not be able to tell the truth when they are asked simple questions by members of their family or by their close friends. As telling the truth may have consequences, telling lies may have deeper consequences that cannot only hurt the person telling the lie, but it can affect the person being lied to. Being known as a liar can cause problems in a relationship because it will bring on trust issues and can also cause one’s partner to overthink…

I have personally felt that most of the time, the minor decisions between truth and lies are more stressful because they are more ambiguous, and that having a relationship with the person adds more ambiguity. If someone dropped their wallet on the street, I would have almost no hesitation in returning the wallet to that person because the consequences of my actions would be huge. I would gain money from that wallet, but my conscience would not be able to bear the guilt of that decision, which would ultimately outweigh the positive gain of money.…

People lie for many reasons in this world, because of the way their brain was trained and the psychological part of it, and depending on the person it could be for the better or worse. Our environment is where we pick everything up from so that contributes to how often a person lies and their reasons. Lies can become very complicated depending on the situation, there are different lies. People also lie because of the good of their heart whether they know if it’s bad or not because sometimes people don’t have a definition of the difference of the two. They want to avoid or fix something in the wrong way but the intentions are good because sometimes there is no right way.…
