Impetigo and Erysipelas are a bacterial- skin infection diseases. They are both caused by hemolytic streptococcus bacteria, also Impetigo is caused by another kind of bacteria which is called staphylococcus aureus. According to Hecht (2017), there are three types of Impetigo - nonbullous, bullous and ecthyma- while Erysipelas has one type only. The former is found in the tropical areas and subtropical (Marks,n.d.). Similarly, Erysipelas is common in hot and humid weather (the international foundation for dermatology (FID), n.d.). Moreover, Hecht (2017) states that Impetigo affects children who are two-five years old, same as Erysipelas which affects who are two-six years old (Healthline, 2016). Hecht reports that the symptoms of Impetigo appear in the external layers of the skin, whereas Erysipelas signs, which we can see it in the upper layers. Furthermore, the two diseases are affected the same parts of the body most oven: arms, legs, and face (figure 2) (Healthline, 2016). Moreover, Impetigo sometimes leads to cellulitis, sepsis, psoriasis and other skin diseases, while Erysipelas causes many complications such as blood clots, gangrene and harm heart valves. Also, the infection may spread to the brain if it is near the eyes (Healthline, 2016).To quote from Hecht," a 2015 review of Impetigo found the highest incidence in the 14 countries of Oceania".
