In taking this course I have learned a great deal of information regarding the theory of evolution and creationism. To be completely honest, I never paid much attention to this material when it was presented to me in high school. However, my perspective has certainly changed since starting this class. I used to believe evolution was complete rubbish but there is actually a significant amount of reasoning behind their claims. However, as a Christian, faith will trumps reason. I actually never truly cared to learn about Creationism until this class. I feel the more I complete this class the more objective I become, which is amazing because I am highly opinionated. We desire to know everything. But the reality is we do not. I do not believe our mere human minds can understand the depths of creation, thus God did not give us abundant knowledge regarding this matter. We have to choose to let God be God. “The greatest insult to nature is that mutations and natural selection are credited with being responsible for all of it” (Lyndon, 2009). I do not want to know everything, especially things that were not meant for me to understand. That’s the great part about being human and serving a God far greater than I. He is all knowing, he is all righteous, all-powerful, omnipresent and omnipotent. I do not need to worry about such matters, I just have to have the faith and be obedient to him. John 1:1 states, “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God” (New International Version). I believe in God, thus I have no choice but to believe in his Word. “For the word of God is alive and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart” (Hebrews 4:12, New International

Knowledge begins the day we are born; we begin to learn how to breathe, how to eat, and how to sleep, and then later we learn how to walk, how to talk, and how to ride a bicycle. We also learn not to touch a hot stove or swim right after we eat. All this knowledge is attained so quickly in our early years. Then in our teenage years we usually begin to make more mistakes, and those mistakes begin to have bigger consequences; these lessons mold and shape our lives and future choices. In Paradise Lost, John Milton shifts the concept of knowledge from being the perfect God-given amount before the Fall to being in excess after the Fall of mankind.…

Yet, evolution hasn’t been shut down in schools across the US for the last 80 years. America has been built off of the belief in God and that is the way it has been over 241 years.
