To the side of UMass, they can negotiate with the local farmers to get a competitively low price; Students and school faculty also benefit from the Real Food Challenge because they know where does the food come from. Which means they don’t need to worry about the food safety since they know the people they are doing business with; Meanwhile, food became more affordable and accessible. Local farmers benefits from Real Food Challenge as well because they are able to sell out all their products. Meanwhile they are able to expand their businesses. More job opportunities are available in our community, thus the unemployment people in our community could find a work place to feed their family; In the other hand, local farms started to have more strength to compete with the international corporation which has more mature system (Compare to the local farms and those international corporations which sell their products oversea) and relative low price.
