Explain to the parents that today we talked about serving size in class. Have the parents help their child look at the serving sizes on the clippings of the food in their bag. Have the children draw a picture of the food and write the serving size next to the food. Please have the children bring these in to class so that we can discuss them as a whole group.
Assessment of Objective(s):
During this lesson plan, I will assess the students by observing them during the story and watch to see who seems to have a hard time answering the questions that I am asking the class. I will also watch to see if there are any students who have a hard time putting the story in order. If it appears that there is a student(s) who struggle with this, I can work with them one-on-one during centers and allow them to tell me the story in their own words.
Implementation Reflection:
During this lesson, if it appears that students are having a hard time creating with the vocabulary words, I will make sure and go over them a few times throughout the lesson next time. I will also make sure to spend more time on serving sizes (since this is a lesson about the Food
