As an 8th grade student, the decision of choosing what high school to pick can be a big step or even challenging, but what if homeschooling could be a decision for kids that want to learn one-on, or kids that want to learn more than just the standards that are taught at regular school setting. For some students, its very challenging to learn with fifteen or so students. There are some kids that want learn what they will actually learn in the real world and not stuff that will never help them in life. Regular high school students have less percentile then, “...homeschoolers scored 34-39 percentile points higher than the norm on standardized achievement tests” (Ray 3). This shows that in fact when teens are taught at home they learn more and …show more content…
Although there are studies on the brain when students should start school, homeschoolers have the option to start later(Let Them Sleep). Although they don’t have the option to have less school days, they do have the option to not have all the breaks we do. They still have certain restrictions just like public schools. Some downfalls are they are spending almost all the time with their parents. For some teens the time they already have with them so imagine being taught by them all day. Another downfall may be, that teen can’t talk with their friends since they most likely are at a public …show more content…
Especially children who have a mental or learning disorder, its hard to concentrate on things. Say they were at a public high school in English, and a kid was tapping his foot or clicking his pen, for some that is irritating and for some that could make them have a mental break down. Then kids would make fun of them for freaking out. At home the student does not have to walk to their next class where in a public school they do. That is where a good twenty - thirty minutes of the day goes. At home they don’t have to walk to the next class or have to spend the same time on each subject/ class as they do at the public education. Every class has a set time slot each day. At home students don’t have as many distractions as they do at a regular high

Homeschooling is a successful form of education, but unfortunately it is disvalued for its uncommon style of teachings. The unique learning experience produces a variety of viewpoints around the role of participation from the parents and the impact of success a student accomplishes being homeschooled. Home education faces the challenge of being credited for its academic success, instead it is stereotyped to be an inefficient form of education and a deprive to a child’s socialization. These perceptions leave the parents less motivated to investigate the credible facts of academic success in homeschooling, sending them in a default direction to public school their child. Despite the non-supporters, homeschooling seems to still be formulating…

I have always cared a lot about children and their education. Thus, making sure that they get some sort of education growing up is something that I care very deeply about. This topic is incredibly important to me because not only have I worked in a public elementary school, but I have also worked with children who are homeschooled. When talking with the children who are homeschooled, they seem to be happier overall, and their life seems to be less complicated than those who attend public school.…

Homeschooling allows youth to discover for themselves instead of simply learning facts. Because the children learn at home, it lowers the student-teacher ratio to the minimum and permits parents to entirely influence their children’s education both spiritually and mentally. By holding the role of teacher, principle, and counselor, the parents retain the privilege to completely decide how they teach their children. Homeschooling cannot be the BEST form of education can it? The answer is simple – it depends on the family’s unique needs and lifestyle.…

Picture a boy trying to juggle his schoolwork and his job but then they add a two hour extension which makes it harder for him to do his job efficiently. Do we think it is right to force a kid to do two hours more at school? To begin, I believe that our school should not follow the same model as businesses because of the following reasons: students will get home later than usual, students will have less time to sleep, and parents will not like us staying too late at school. First, students will get home later than usual.…

For the home schooling is the children will not know the real world, and may have problem interacting with other children. Parents chose sometimes because of the small sizes of the class or because there is homework every day, that may be advantage for some children, but not for all. They are isolated from children their own age and often find it hard to befriend others and become dependent upon their parents. There is therefore limited social interaction and interpersonal skills. Children at traditional schools are exposed to different cultures, religions, and backgrounds, hence the fact that they are exposed to the real world, allowing them to compete, understand why people behave the way they do, and learn to respect different opinions as well. Psychological, emotional, and social development of homeschoolers are therefore affected, as they are confined to the home. It is evident from this that homeschooling negatively affect the child.…

Because of the number of students in a public school classroom, it is highly impossible for public schooled students to travel to historical places like homeschoolers can. Another advantage that homeschoolers have over public schoolers is the fact that they can graduate by the time they are sixteen, where in most cases, public schooled students must be eighteen. It is said that homeschooled students can graduate two years earlier than public schooled students. This accusation goes to show how much wasted time there is in public school. Things such as time in between classes, fire drills, or even having to wait for other students to finish their work when one student is already finished are all examples of why people who are educated from home get things done more productively.…

Children go to school so they can learn and be taught a variety of subjects by a teacher qualified to teach them, alternatively to the lessons parents give their children when growing up at home. Parents however who decide to homeschool may say it is because they don 't trust the board of education to teach their children properly, but what they don 't realize is that they aren 't necessarily qualified unless they have a teacher 's license, even if it 's technically legal to teach your children without one. Teaching when your own personal views prevents children forming their own opinion does not help children, and that biased education starting at a young age can affect their interpretation of everything thereafter. When parents decide to…

Education plays an important role in everyone’s future and lives; therefore, parents should make sure that their kids receive a proper education. A majority of parents would choose public school as an education for their kids. However, parents might also choose homeschooling for their kids for certain reasons. Either way, both public schooling and homeschooling have less in common than most people think. In both, students might receive the same education but go through many different physical and social aspects.…
