The Holocaust was a devastating time during World War II, which changed the lives of many people all over the world. The Holocaust targeted a variety of citizens, mainly of the Jewish race, killing them in several cruel ways. World War II was a calamitous time as well, for beginning in September 1939, Britain and France declared war on Germany following Germany’s invasion of Poland. Even when their parents showed no approval they joined anyway to participate in camping trips, campfires, and parades. The activities sounded like a great deal of fun, which was actually just the beginning to an evil takeover of the youth’s minds. However, some children were denied if their parents were not perfect Nazis. Hitler Youth accomplished to think and act as one because Hitler Youth did not tolerate originality or distinctiveness (Bartoletti 23-27). The revolution of Hitler Youth gave its members new heroes to extol. For most, the unity provided the opportunity to not obey their parents, teachers, and other important figures (Bartoletti 7). Hitler Youth was the lifeblood of the political plan for Hitler. Hitler planned to start his optimal nation. Hitler hoped to inspire his countrymen to believe that Germany could reinvent itself as a powerful, lively state, and a potential superpower (Hitler Youth). The division included boys 14 to 18, The Deutshes Jungvolk was designed for younger boys aged 10 to 14, and the girls of Hitler Youth, The League of German Girls. The three manifestation of the Hitler Youth were made to accompany the Nazi influenced education (Hitler Youth). Some bodily disabled children were accepted to join a special section, the disabled and infirm Hitler Youth, the children accepted had to pass a racial test to be confirmed into the group (Bartoletti 26). The exclusive organization read out loud an oath while gripping the Blood Banner, a flag dripped in the blood martyr’s who had given up their lives for the Nazi Party. While holding the banner the youth repeated the oath, “In the presence of this Blood Banner, which represents our Fuhrer, I swear to devote all my energies and my strength to the savior of our country, Adolf Hitler. I am willing and ready to give up my life for him, so help me, God.” During this induction ceremony, boys and girls are sent into the Jungvol or Jungmadel. The ceremony took place on April 20, which was Hitler’s birthday (Bartoletti 24). During the trial period, each male and female had to pass a written exam to know they had become proficient at knowing the Nazi idea about race and politics and confirm their racial background (Bartoletti 25).
