High-Tech Classroom Even though most schools are going to online teaching is it really helping? Is it really increasing and helping students learn like teachers thought it would? Most schools that have gone to a high- tech classroom base their teachings on one concept. The questions parents need to ask themselves is, with this concept are the students really learning, are their test scores really increasing? But lastly are schools even necessary, should students even have to come to school even though everything is on the computer with limited teacher interaction?
Most parents would ask their child’s teachers, is my child actually learning the material that he/she needs to learn? Do they know the material they are learning? “A recent meta-analysis

Those are usually the parents of the students that learn concepts quickly. Since the teachings and lessons are on the computer, their child can move on faster and not have to wait for the rest of the class to get finished. They are able to move on to the next lesson without having to wait only if the lesson is available. They’re able to go at their own speed and not everyone else 's speed. But there are some students that don 't learn as fast as others. The parents to those children are the ones that most likely question the online teaching styles. They might question that their child isn 't getting the teaching he/she needs to learn the concept on the …show more content…
Will the students stay on task while they 're at school and in class. “A study to be published in the journal Computer & Education in September shows that college students who bring their laptops to long lectures spent about two-thirds of their class time for off- task activities” (Neal). Since students are doing off-task activities during school, why do they need to come to a school building when they can stay at home and do the same thing.? If students aren 't doing their work at school then why do students still have to come? They may not do their work at home either. But if the off-task students work from home then it would help the other students stay on task. Most students, even when the teacher thinks they 're doing their work in class on the computer, are usually doing off-task activities.
Today there are PRS (Personal Response Systems) that can help students in multiple different ways. ¨Personal Response Systems, hand-held devices in which students answer questions electronically in class. These devices could make students more interested in attending and focusing during class” (Stanley). So by using Personal Response Systems some students might be focusing more but there is still the chance that 's some aren 't. While other students might not be interested in attending school anymore since there using PRS or because

On my trip to Lucy T. Davis Elementary school, I had the pleasure of going into Ms. Sandra Philips 3rd grade math class and observe how they worked with technology. Sandra Phillips was a 4-year science and math teacher at Lucy T. Davis Elementary School but had been teaching since 1995. Mrs. Phillips told me how the school had just switched over to something called HP classroom manager. This allowed her to see the students’ progress from her desk. She really liked this because she could still do work from her desk like grading papers or even typing lesson plan well still being able to look and see their progress.…

I can’t tell you how many times a day I hear teachers tell students to put their phones away in class or how many times I see full lunch tables where every student is on his/her phone. I am not as consumed in my electronics as many of my peers and it always baffled me as to why, when surrounded by friends and classmates, many students’ still felt the need to connect with others online. I now understand that just a teachers use “busy work” simply to fill their students’ time, the students use their electronics. I now find it extremely ironic when I think back to my sophomore year science teacher. He gave out more work than all of my other sophomore teachers combined.…

Pink states, “Only when such teachers are effectively trained to apply a specific application to teaching a particular topic to a particular set of students — only then does classroom technology really work.” Students who were using technology for other purposes were not helping their grades. Therefore, a solution to this problem would be to strictly manage how a student is able to use the internet.…
