Causes of a High School Drop Out

One of my friends in high school dropped out. He was falling behind early and then stated school wasn 't for him. Is it right to think dropping out of high school is the right thing to do? For example, the early life of a student determines a student 's future. Secondly, during high school their are many things that lead up to discouragement. Furthermore, their are long term effects of a high school drop out. Over many years high schoolers struggle to finish out high school, there are many causes that lead up to not finishing. For one thing, many Educators say today that students can 't get through High School. Many factors play a big role on why high school students struggle to finish out high school.

High school teachers are mean and make students not finish out high school. Educators look at the students grades later down the road of the semester. This could in fact make a student fell discouraged because, they were lost. According to TODD MCKEE, M. and PAUL CALDARELLA in the article “Middle School Predictors Of High School Performance” he states that there are many factors that play a role on high school drop outs. Also, that includes struggling to get the push to go to school. Many students do not get the push to complete school. In order to get to school in the morning, students have to have a good breakfast, to get the energy they need for the day. Times for high school start sometimes early than 7:30 in the morning. Their is a petition going on that states schools should start later. In Terra Ziporyn Snider’s essay “Push Back High School Start Times”, she talks about a school in Virginia. This school in Virginia is known for its school board being Effective. Lastly, They set a goal to set high schools no earlier than 8 am in the morning. This recent goal has made students coming to school more wide awake to learn. In summary, there are long term effects of a high school drop out. In the article “The True Cost of High School Dropouts”, Leven talked about many students today that struggled to make it through high school. Today’s high school drop outs lack grammar issues. They also have other problems that lead to unemployment rate going up. Also stated students that tent to finish out high school are more likely to live a happier, heather life.
