Arguments Against Racial Profiling Essay

It 's a great honor to stand in front of you, fellow classmates, to convey the truth about hatred which pounds away at the infrastructure of the U.S(Personification) . Hatred has affected the lives of millions of people in the USA, especially African Americans and Latinos. Since I 'm a Latino I have experienced hatred throughout my life, and it hurts. Who their discriminating words pierce through my skin(Personification), affecting me and my family . Moreover, in my opinion, I think African Americans are treated and discriminated against worse than Latinos. My reason is that African Americans have been in the U.S since colonial times, and Latinos have only been in the U.S for about thirty years. African Americans were an issue in the past, now, Latinos are the new “problem”. …show more content…
The government tries to fix the problem with their own solution, thinking they are doing well, but actually they are making it worse. The U.S manipulates its variety of ethnicity by using racial profiling. Racial profiling is the use of race or ethnicity as grounds for suspecting someone of having committed an offence. On July 16 2009, Harvard’s black professor Henry Louis Gates Jr. was arrested for supposedly trying to break into a home, but actually he was trying to open his house 's door which was jammed. This is a perfect example of Racial Profiling. Racial Profiling gives power to the police, and they abuse it as teenagers tend to abuse the freedoms their parents extend to them(simile). We know better but we break the rules
