This article intends to bring into focus those plays of the English playwright Harold Pinter where realism has been reflected. We will try to confirm the position of Pinter as a realist and how his plays are a true epitome of the present day life.

Pinter, born on 10th October 1930 in a lower-middle class family, grew up to become a man of multi-faceted genius. He was not only a playwright, but at the same time a brilliant actor, producer and poet. A number of stage plays, radio plays and television plays are credited to his name. The creative potential of Pinter first came out in the form of poetry at a very tender age of twelve and this talent of Pinter bore fruit for the first time when in the Spring of the year 1947 his poetry was first published in the Hackney Downs School
