Do guns need to be used at schools? May would say of course, to protect the students from active shooters, but do they really protect them? Some would say yes and others would say no. First, there is a big debate about gun control in our country right now because of the mass shootings and the murders. Gun fights have been happening in a lot of places, such as parking lots and schools. Many people feel we should have guns in schools, but they are not seeing the whole picture. If we put armed teachers or policemen in schools that are armed will that solve the problem? Probably not, there have been study on the way peoples brain works during an active shooter. Some, like Alexis Artwohl, say a week with a lot of practice and continue to practice after that week. Although many people think that if a situation like a gunfight comes about that they will perform better but that’s not what always happens. States such as Texas and Utah has teachers with guns, but how can they help if they don’t have a lot of practice with guns? In Ohio, teachers have signed up to take a class called Armed Teacher Training Program, that is just three days long. Is that enough to ensure your child’s safety? There are also people who carry concealed weapons with a concealed carry permits that have training of one or two days could be less. It is a possibility that if they have armed teacher, guards, or police officers that it would decrease the likelihood of a shooting, because they could protect if needed, but on the other hand some people don’t care if it armed or not, they will still shoot. According to the evidence, many shooters have been stop by normal people. Such as the Gabrielle Giffords scene, the people that were there jumped the shooter and took his firearm. Plus, many of the citizens that jumped him were not armed. Sometimes, people just need to observe people, because usually people go through certain things, such as talking about it or fantasying about it, before that actually do
