Gun Control

In the United States of America, guns are one of the top causes of unnatural deaths. Therefore, guns must be regulated in this country, so that we as a country can decrease the number of murders caused by gun use. This can happen only if the punishments for illegal actions involving guns are reinforced and there is an increase in security in all public locations. Amending the current second amendment, so that guns should be given only to police and people with a clean record and all guns must be purchased through the Federal Law Enforcement Agencies.

When a gun is sold and purchased, a certificate of ownership must be published. When a gun is sold and purchased illegally, a certificate of ownership will not be published. For people who do buy and sell guns illegally, the punishment would be a 10-year jail sentence. Threatening people with larger punishments will have a positive affect on the annual number of deaths due to guns. Most importantly, guns should be given to police and people with very clean criminal records. Police are to receive one and only one gun, no matter their position. People who have never had a criminal history may purchase a gun. If they have even the slightest crime on their criminal record, they will not be able to purchase nor own a gun. For those who wish to purchase a gun and are anywhere between the age range of 18 and 30 years old, both, their criminal records as well as high school and college transcripts (if available) will be checked. If the person has had a history with illegal substances, the gun will not be sold and if they purchase the gun and then make an illegal action involving illegal substances, the gun will be revoked from them permanently. A citizen must keep a clean record in order to possess a gun. The final requirement to possess a gun is that it must be purchased through the Federal Law Enforcement Agency, nationwide. This will ensure that all records will be checked before the gun is sold. If the officer who is selling the gun has reasonable doubt
