I need to be aware of the point of view for the paper I am writing so I can meet the requirements for the paper. Certain teachers ask for a certain point of view. If the teacher, asks for a point of view I have to meet that requirement. If the teacher doesn’t ask for a certain point of view I need to pick one and stay with that point of view for the entirety of the paper. If I don’t have a clear understanding of my point of view and switch my thoughts throughout, the paper will be very confusing and the reader will be lost as they read the paper.

I must be aware of the constraints so I know what I am going to run into as I write my paper. Having an idea of what the constraints will be before I run into them will help so I can plan for them and not let them adversely effect the paper. For example, time is a very big constraint. I want to be aware of the time constraints so I know how to plan accordingly to have time to write a good paper. Another constraint I need to be aware of when writing a paper is how much I care for the topic. If I don’t care about the topic the paper won’t be very good, but if I care about the topic it should be much better. If I am aware of where I stand on the topic, I cannot let that constraint effect me as much as if I didn’t keep the constraint in mind. A constraint I could also run into in the future that I need to be aware of is “a piece of writing is never finished” (Murray 614). I need to know it will never be finished but I have to get the paper delivered to its …show more content…
While writing I need to be aware of who I want my audience to be and the reason why I am writing to them. I need to know who I am writing to so I know the best way to address them. In doing this, I can say what needs to be said in the best way to persuade them in my favor. The paper also needs to be written to a certain audience because not everyone is the same and can be persuaded in the same way. Knowing the audience, I am writing to I can use my writing in the best way for them to persuade them in whatever way I am trying to. I also have to make sure my writing is appropriate for that audience. For example, I would write a scientific paper differently if my audience was a group of scientists than I would if the audience was a group of artists. I need my audience to be able to understand what I am trying to say.
9. Am I writing what I am being asked to write?
Am I writing what I am being asked to write? If I wasn’t doing this, then I should just stop writing. When writing, there is always something being asked. Whether its a teacher asking me to answer a prompt or to write a research paper. I have to make sure what needs to be written is included in my writing or I won’t go very far in life. If I need to write a research paper I need to make sure it’s a research paper and has everything that needs to be in it. I don’t want to be writing a story when it should be a research paper.
