Globalisation is a movement trend in the whole world that is working towards integrating in sectors such as economic, financial, trade, and communications. The concept looks at opening up local and national markets to other countries through an interconnected and interdependent world that enables free transfer of capital, goods, and services across nations.

Globalization has managed to integrate different world economies, including people and companies in different countries. The concept has eliminated a lot of restrictions on exchanges across borders and has resulted into an increasingly integrated world with very efficient systems of production and exchange. Any business that offers products or services in order to make profit or to sustain the business engaged in an economic activity. All the various components of a business involved in manufacturing, marketing and distribution of goods and services to the public fall under economic activities of that particular business.

Current research activities related to the concept/theories
The research related to the concept is one that was published as an article in 2017 entitled Changes in economic activity: The role of age and education. The aim of the research was to understand the extent to which developments of labor force participation rates between 2000 and 2010 in selected European countries.
