While my Robotics team was revising our robot for the VEX Robotics Mid-Atlantic Championships, I made sure to keep track of the team’s progress in the engineering notebook, as well as supervise the work of my fellow team members. At Governor’s School, I will make sure to collaborate and contribute ideas, as well as provide leadership skills such as guidance, encouragement, and responsibility. The scientific method and problem-based learning located at Governor’s School is a new way of learning that will test my ability to develop solutions by experimenting, inquiring, and analyzing. By following the “7 Habits of Highly Effective Teens”, I can “Begin with the End in Mind” by envisioning my ultimate career goal: becoming a healthcare/medical professional. Attending Governor’s School would be a major leap in my education, allowing me to progress and take a step nearer to my career goal. This program would be able to bestow ample experience, research, and education which are beneficial for being successful in my path in education. Tom Landry once said, “Setting a goal is not the main thing. It is deciding how you will go about achieving it and staying with that plan.” The main challenge of an achievement is the journey one must take to reach their goal. By becoming a student of Governor’s School, I believe I can move a step forward in achieving my career goal, while also providing to the school
