Participation can also result in better understanding of goals. By participating one learns more about problems, constraints, objectives. Feedback on goal accomplishment increases performance levels. Specific, challenging, accepted goals have the most beneficial effect when they are accompanied by ongoing feedback that enables the person to compare current performance with the goal.
