Confidentiality:
Confidentiality is the safeguarding of private information concerning a child and their family which is disclosed in the professional relationship. Confidentiality is vital within an early years setting and is built around trust. When receiving and giving private information the child and family involved must always come first and therefore the information being shared with in the professional relationship should have careful consideration.

The main issues which are essential to confidentiality are; sharing information, safe storage of information and legal requirements and policies.
Practitioners should ensure that no information is shared to anyone outside of the placement, that they are situated and if they are informing their supervisor or another staff member in the workplace of an issue involving one of the children that they are informed in a private place where no other children or parents can listen or hear the conversation.
When storing information ensure that it is put in a place that no one else can either access or will know that the information has been stored there. This will prevent anyone from finding and reading the information therefore breaking
