Howard Gardner's Multiple Intelligence
The theory of multiple intelligences was developed in 1983 by Dr. Howard Gardner after he suggests or questions that the traditional notion and definition of intelligence, based on I.Q. testing, is far too limited. He found that people had many other gifts and talents that weren't necessarily reflected in the traditional ideals of intelligence. Instead, Dr. Gardner proposes eight different intelligences to account for a broader range of human potential in children and adults. Out of the eight intelligences, two have been typically valued in schools, the other four are usually associated with the arts and the remaining two are what Howard Gardner called ‘personal intelligences’.

Individuals with high linguistic intelligence demonstrate strength in the language arts: speaking, writing, reading and listening. They are very sensitive to the sounds, meanings and rhythms of words. They use words effectively. This type of individuals have highly developed auditory skills and often think in words. They can express themselves and what they want to say in words clearly. They are good in writing essay, poem and can turn a small story to a huge fascinating story that can grab others attention. They also pick up languages faster than normal people. Examples of profession are lawyers, writers, poets, and speakers.
The second intelligence is logical-mathematical. Individuals with high logical-mathematical intelligence have the ability to think conceptually, abstractly and are well in reasoning and calculating. They can also analyze problems logically and dealing with mathematical operations and scientific issue. This type of individuals are good in taking test, critical thinking and organization. This type of individuals are very good in visualize pictures or graphics in their mind. They have the potential to think abstractly and solve problems using physical space which can be in three dimensional, images and patterns. They will enjoy learning through charts, graphics, pictures, maps, puzzles and 3-D modeling. They like to draw and illustrates anything that are eye catching. Examples of professions are designers and architects.
Next, I will continue on naturalist intelligence. Individuals with high naturalist intelligence tend to love the nature world. They have the ability to recognize nature such as they can categorize types of flower, animal and other. This type if individuals usually like outdoor activities such as field trips. Examples of professions are botanists, biologist and wilderness doctor.
The seventh intelligence is interpersonal intelligence. Individuals with interpersonal intelligence tend to easily understand and accept other people's minds, moods and emotions. They are individuals that often interacts with others and love to be in groups of people. They are good at reception other people's moods or feelings and motivate the people.
