During childhood they were together quite a bit of the time, but her motives were to escape her father and have fun somewhere else but home. Later in life Jenny and Forrest drifted apart and seldom saw each other. Every time Forrest would go out of his way to see Jenny she acted as if she had much better things to do than waste her time with him. Still yet, a few years later Jenny showed up at Forrest’s house and asked to stay with him. That night, Jenny went into Forrest’s room and fornicated. The next morning she was gone, leaving Forrest tired and alone. Pleasure was the main focus on Jenny’s relationship with Forrest.

The third and final category of friendship is goodness. Goodness is the most perfect type of attachment. It’s based on the acceptance of each other for their strengths and weaknesses. These alliances last forever. Many years can go by and it will never be doubted. Lieutenant Dan and Forrest met shortly after Forrest met Bubba. He was the commanding officer of the platoon Forrest was on. In the same attack that Bubba loses his life, Lieutenant Dan loses his legs. After Forrest’s service in the military, they meet again and Dan agrees to be the first mate on Forrest’s shrimp boat. Before that, Lieutenant Dan and Forrest spent New Year’s Eve together with a couple of prostitutes. Forrest pushed the girl he was with away and she called him stupid. Outraged at this statement, Dan kicked both of the girls out, essentially ruining his New Year’s
