Even the closest of friends never truly share the same feelings for each other. People who relate to Charlie see the Friend Zone as a state that brings them frustration unlike any other. It represents a barricade that prevents them from entering exciting and new waters with their more than special friend. They are willing to do just about anything to escape and conquer the dreaded zone. However, many timid and cautious people relate to Sue’s view of the friend zone. They see this zone as a place they call home. It brings them a sense of comfort to have a friend that will always stand by their side and help them through all their needs. The comfort also comes from the assumption that their friend wants nothing more then a friendship either. Breaching out of the friend zone with people similar to Sue is nearly impossible because they are unwilling to risk a one of a kind friendship for a relationship. All in all, the friend zone is a challenge experienced by many. It brings emotions of all kinds to the table. To one the zone can bring feelings of impatience, uncertainty, and frustration while it can bring others comfort, protection, and peace of mind.
