Many times throughout my writing career, my teacher suggested this strategy and I resented it. I did not see the value in it until I began struggling to come up with material to write about. Unless I have a very strict and short deadline, my writing process begins with thinking and reading about the topic or subject matter of my paper. I don’t do a structured free writing or idea mapping session, but rather just read a bit to get familiar with the subject matter and to get my brain thinking about the subject. Once I am ready to begin writing. I start with the thesis statement is on the topic, is formatted correctly, and matches the purpose of the essay.…

For some people, writing is difficult and it can become stressful to write about topics you have no interest about; for me it’s the contrary, I have always had good fluency when it comes to write about any topic, even if it doesn’t interest me, this is mainly because I take it as a new challenge or an opportunity to have a more in deep look about the certain topic; I use this not only for writing but every time I get tasked with something new, for example back when I was in the marine recruit training more commonly known has boot camp, it’s a requirement to learn how to shoot a rifle with outstanding accuracy, for me this was something completely new since I had never held a rifle before and it hadn’t really caught my attention until…
