Washington D. C Population Density Map

This map of population density map of Washington D.C. allows us to directly see the areas of the city that are more populated, in the core, and the areas that are less populated, along the periphery. Unlike the most common maps of the city of Washington D.C., we can see more than just town names and highways. From the map we can see where people are living, and the roads and highways all lead to this centered dense population. This paper will not only describe this map of Washington D.C. and it’s characteristics, but it will also discuss the people of D.C. and my own thoughts about the city. The city of Washington D.C. has several differences between the core and the periphery, or outermost areas. is located in North America, as part of the South Atlantic Region of the United States, between the East Coast states of Virginia and Maryland. The exact geographical coordinates of Washington D.C. is Latitude: 38°53′42″ N, and Longitude: 77°02′10″ W (Geographic). Sitting at about 400 feet above sea level, the entire city Washington D.C. lies within the Atlantic Coastal Plane (Elevations). Similar the the famous city of Rome, Washington D.C. was also built on seven hills, Capitol Hill, Meridian Hill, Floral Hills, Forest Hills, Hillbrook, Hillcrest, and Knox Hill (The City). The climate in Washington D.C. is consistent with the rest of the state of Maryland, maintaining a humid subtropical climate. This city has no dry season, which means rainfall year-round, and is also categorized as Climate Zone C. The annual average temperature is 43 degrees Fahrenheit, with the hottest month being July, the summers in D.C. are hot and humid with average temperature at 80 degrees Fahrenheit. The winters can be described as mildly cool, as the coldest month, January, averages a brisk temperature of 38 degrees Fahrenheit (Weather
