Rhetorical tools not only from the readers’ thoughts and responses, but also dictate how the paper is initially created. The author can add certain pieces of evidence or specific word choice in order to force the reader to perceive the argument in a certain way. The level of interaction with the with the literature help helped me to understand the message better which made my grasp of the ideas firmer than when I first read it. In addition to the clarity of the ideas, the more interaction with a piece of literature the easier it is to see the types of rhetorical devices used. It took hours of reading and interpretation to figure out how the author was creating the effects I felt from the paper. The level of interaction and ability to pick out the main message dictated the level of difficulty to grasp what’s being said. It took me until the third draft of the TiA to understand how the author was creating the effects. I had been writing a reader response but not actually analyzing the author’s usage of rhetorical devices. It’s one thing to comprehend what is being said, but how to express the understanding and ideas into words that make sense is another task. One of the things that I continue to have trouble with is expressing my ideas in coherent sentences. When I did that it reinforced my whole paper and gave the reader a better idea of how the quote was important. In the research paper I explained how each of the quotes tied into the concept of increased sustainability or how the millions of tons of carbon dioxide affect the environment. Changing the organization of my research paper also helped better communicate to the audience. The acquisition of the old before new tactic really helped me bring the connections to the paper since everything made more sense when the information builds on itself and it helped me be better organize my papers. Organizing the paper helped better communicate with the audience. Before I changed the way in which I talked about the process of the textile industry, the topics were all over the place. When the topics were all over the place, it made following information difficult and confusing. By moving around certain information, it made the flow of the paper much clearer and evident of the direction of the paper. The reconstruction falls under the revision process of which I struggled with until I was introduced to the OC method. The implication of the method helps rid sentences of unnecessary words which helps kept explanations concise and to the point.
