Cesar Chavez Analysis

Imagine having to work at a young age or not being able to go to school. Mother Jones fought for the abolishment of child labor, while Cesar Chavez worked to gain equality for Latino migrant farm workers. Furthermore, Malala Yousafzai fights for women’s education across the world. They all played an important part in the quest for equality. Although these three individuals used different methods to get their point across, they all had courage to speak out about injustice and improve human rights. Mother Jones was someone who stood up for all of the children who were mistreated while they were working. According to the text,“The coming years would bring much more adversity: Strikes and boycotts, marches and fasts, victories and defeats” (Cesar Chavez Foundation). Cesar was a leader who filled people with hope for a better working life as they followed him to get equal rights for migrant workers especially Latino farmers. His motivation to start standing up for this cause was his own experiences and the unjust treatment that others had received. He used these as fuel to start a fire and get the workers what they deserved. According to The Cesar Chavez Foundation,“As a common man with an uncommon vision, Cesar Chavez stood for equality, justice and dignity for all Americans.” After going through injustice first hand, Chavez stood up for human rights so that no one else would have to go through that harsh, unequal treatment. Eventhough Cesar’s issue did not have much support, he stood by it full-heartedly. She made a petition, spoke to many leaders and girls across the world, wrote books, and helped open schools for girls who want to further their education. (Malala Fund) Malala made a difference by having courage and speaking her mind on the issues regarding her education. She showed great persistence by not giving in, even when her whole life got turned around. Malala has fought for educational rights starting from a young age, because in Pakistan, the Taliban stopped allowing girls to go to school. Because of this, Malala started to speak out against this issue and encouraged other women to do so as well. The Malala Fund states,“In December of 2008, the Taliban issues an edict banning girls from going to school.” Malala would definitely agree that defending all human rights will benefit everyone. She is an inspirational example for not only women, but everyone who hopes to make a difference.
