Reflection Paper On Brand Me

This year I have wanted to give myself time to consider my employment options after graduation and when I sat down to write this reflective essay a constant theme reappeared; my own lack of confidence in my abilities and how this prevents me from achieving my potential. This lack of confidence was very obvious in the two situations I will focus on in this essay, the ‘Brand Me’ presentation and my search for a placement.

‘Tell me about yourself?’ This is such a hard question for me to answer, as I cannot find something that I have done which is good enough to define who I am. The search for a placement has allowed me to overcome my insecurities and realize that rejection is a natural part of the process of achieving my short-term goal of securing a placement. I have taken each rejection in different ways depending on how much I wanted the position and the time I invested into the application. Having been influenced by my demons , I lost hope and faith in being able to secure a placement and achieving my goal. Losing hope led me to take a couple of days off from the process and rethink what I was doing. Utilising the Placement Office, I have overcome my demons through checking my written capabilities and how I communicate in writing. Once I had a meeting about another placement application, I felt on track again as the feedback boosted my confidence. I became proud that I could write an effective cover letter and that going into a human resources placement was the right thing to
