I believe that an individual deserves to know exactly what they are consuming as it does directly affect them. These fast food chains hype up their products and state lies to their customers. They use ad campaigns to inform people on what they have to offer, the only problem is that they are not stating the whole truth. They might state that they use fresh lettuce and tomatoes in their products, or that their beef is fresh and never frozen. The truth is that chemical use in fast food is pretty much completely unavoidable. If you were to search fast food restaurants for a fried foods that don 't contain dimethylpolysiloxane, and ingredient in silly putty, or a burger that doesn 't contain additives it would be impossible. Logically, one might think that one fast food burger comes from one cow, but a study was conducted and results showed that a four ounce patty could contain meat from over one thousand cows. Another study conducted showed that chicken nuggets from a fast food company are made from “pink slime” which is a combination of intestines, tissue and lots of other nasty stuff. Even with all the negatives, the fast food industry is continuously booming. As sales rise so does blood pressure, diabetes, obesity, mental health problems and many other things. Fast food is not solely responsible for all illnesses and disease, but does play a huge role in it. Excessive and consistent consumption of fast food can cause many detrimental problems like clogged arteries, high blood pressure, type 2 diabetes and even cancer. On top of all the nasty things included in fast food, huge amounts of cholesterol and fats are included as well. As you consume more and more fast food, your arteries become more clogged up. This causes the pathway for blood flow to narrow and subsequently, it reduces the amount of oxygen that gets to your cells. This can create blood clots called atherosclerosis, this in turn can lead to strokes and heart
