Ray Bradbury explains the dangers of being so consumed with technology. This is a futuristic novel but can easily be applied to our own society because of how technology plays such a large role and what would happen if our access to information was either limited or eliminated altogether. In the context of Fahrenheit 451 the authorities had demanded that all books are to be banned. Civilians in this society believe that using fire to burn their problems eliminates their problems for good, but in reality this creates a corrupt dystopian society. Unfortunately many citizens did not argue with the law because they didn 't want their ideas to be challenged or didn 't want to receive criticism from the government or from their peers.
