There Is a Reason Behind Everything
The truism “everything happens for a reason” is more than just a cliché. What is a cliché? A cliché is a phrase or opinion that is overused and betrays a lack of original thought. However, this cliché has a deeper meaning. What exactly does that mean? It has a vast meaning more so than most people realize. Everything we do happens for a reason. Good, bad, or otherwise it is still a reason. Growing up I heard this saying a lot. As a kid I was always told things happened for a reason. I never knew why or what that meant at the time. But as time passed I began realizing everything that did happen it happened for a reason. Here is an example of this. I was about twelve years old and I had a mutt from the pound. He was a beautiful soft coated black dog, who weighed less than a feather when he would jump on me. I cannot for the life of me remember his breed but I called him Gizmo. The reason for his name was because I watched the movie “Gremlins.” My dog reminded me of the cute cuddly little light weight fuzz ball who was a Mogwai. Because if he did not escape we would have never have gotten rid of him and the little girl may not have gotten such an amazing dog for a service dog. Because Gizmo was the greatest dog anyone could have ever wanted. So, after I found out that my best friend (Gizmo) found a place where he would not be ignored or abused, I slept better at night. I was at ease to know he went to a place where he was needed. I like to think he was loved and cared for and he helped a girl with a problem she had. In a way to me he was kind of a protector. Which fits into the Gremlins movie when Gizmo protects Billy (the young man who received Gizmo as a pet) from a gremlin who tried to kill Billy. So, when I think of Gizmo, I think of a
