Personal Narrative: Kidnappers Were Real

Kidnappers Were Real It happened only a few years ago, but it feels like it’s been a lifetime. Yet, I remember it vividly, almost as if it was yesterday. The memory will forever be seared into my mind, and I’ll be forced to relive the experience every time my mind wanders. I’ll always remember that day that I became conscious of the real world. That day was the day I grew up, the day I realized the world wasn’t all sunshine and rainbows. It was the day I realized that kidnappers were real. The first thing I remember is being in my kitchen. I was sitting on the counter while my mom made dinner. After rummaging around in the fridge for at least five minutes, she closed the fridge and asked, “Can somebody go get some eggs from the Carr’s?” …show more content…
The man probably would have grabbed me in the next few seconds, due to my chaotic mind and shocked state, but all my thoughts vanished when I heard the voice of Isaac Carr shouting, “Mom! Dad! There’s a man trying to kidnap Maddie!”
The next thing I knew, the man behind me immediately turned around, ran to his car, jumped in, and sped away. I didn’t want to risk him coming back, so I sprinted to my house and gave my mom the eggs. I still had the Tupperware Isaac had lent to me, so I made my way out of the house and to the Carr’s once again. This time I sprinted there as if my life depended on it, seeing as it very well could have. Isaac was not outside anymore, so I approached their front door, and rang the doorbell, nervously looking over my shoulder for any suspicious people.
Isaac quickly answered the door and let me come inside. I gave him, back the Tupperware and asked him where his parents were since he had called for them. He explained to me that they were still gone but he pretended to call to them in hopes it would scare the man away, which it did. He walked me back home and I explained everything to my parents. I wasn’t allowed to be alone outside for over a month, but I didn’t mind, considering the fact that now I knew that kidnappers were
