Code of Ethics Paper
Think about your past teachers you had growing up. The ones people normally remember are usually their favorite teachers because that’s who made a difference in some point in their lives or just made them feel safe at school. As an Early Child Educator I want my past students to think of me as their favorite teacher, the one they trusted that’s my goal. In order for me to obtain that goal its important to first gain insightful knowledge of moral and ethical conducts. There are two documents that talk a lot about moral and ethical conducts for education professionals. The first article is called The National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC). The Second article is called The Code of Ethics of the Education

They state that it is so essential that children are able to develop social, emotional, physical and cognitive development in the safest way possible. This is important because if the child is not in a safe environment this could lead to possible struggles for the child developing these important qualities. Another similarity I noticed was that they both talked about professionalism in the work place. This was important to realize because it is true, as an Early Child Educator you are going to have a lot of colleagues. The NAEYC and the Code of Ethics of the Education Profession in Florida make it clear to not discriminate against a colleague because of race, sex, nationality, religious beliefs, etc. This point is often overlooked; the principles that apply to children also apply to us as we interact with other adults in the workplace. Doing so will ensure a stable environment for teaching the children. Giving these points, it is clear that these similarities all translate into building the best environment possible for early childhood …show more content…
To achieve my goal on becoming the favorite teacher I would most definitely rely more on the NAEYC because it provides what I need so that I can ensure that my job is being done the right way. Those who read The Education Profession in Florida would gain insightful knowledge that will help them become a great teacher, but because of lack of detail that is has compared to the NAEYC they wouldn’t get nearly as much as they would from reading that. Reading these documents together overall tells us educators the importance of moral and ethical conduct. This will help educators like me for instance keeping their jobs and will most definitely help students because they will taught in an environment that will help to develop them in to successful students which in the long run remember their educators as being a great

In this code of ethics the language is proving harder to read though. Words such as adherence or engender are used and are not usable or understood by all students. The information is also very formal and hard to keep track of in the first paragraph. Like the Truman’s code of ethics, students are expected to show respect to fellow students and employees, be honest, and act with integrity. However, this handbook is more detailed and clearer than…

In the world of higher education today, the education profession is vested by the public with a trust and responsibility requiring the highest ideals of professionalism. Therefore, the university or college professor accepts both the public trust and the responsibilities to practice the profession according to the highest possible degree of ethical conduct and standards. Consequently, professors must develop a keen awareness and sensitivity to a variety of dilemmas and circumstances they may encounter in their daily contact with students. After reading the Young v. Bella case, as a future professor, I had a lot of thoughts on how the University and its employees had failed in their obligation to Wanda Young.…

The article, “Essential Ethical Considerations in Education” by Robert Smith, identifies numerous responsibilities educators in all professions should observe when instructing students, regardless of the classroom composition or disposition. It appears from the information provided in the scenario that Mr. Peabody has chosen to ignore these common considerations or has allowed community pressure to influence his philosophy concerning the curriculum. First, educators should have an ethical obligation to demonstrate respect for all individuals (Smith, 1996). Mr. Peabody does not support this philosophy with disparaging remarks about the insignificant number of African American students and their low college attendance rate. Mike could use this…

Ethical Dilemmas Advocacy campaign for substance abuse will bring out ethical dilemmas which may hamper or halt the process. Strategies to implement SBIRT among school-going adolescents will show moral judgment and violation of autonomy. This campaign may also be viewed as a violation of privacy by adolescents as it screens for personal habits. Parents will look at SBIRT as persuasion or coercion as schools recommend it. Both parents and the adolescents will fail to understand the bigger picture of reducing incidents or implementing an early intervention to thwart unhealthy behavior among the population group and may take it as a personal attack.…

If it was a race between which team researchers (Seligman and Maier, Johnson and Tudor or Watson and Raynor) was the most unethical, it would be a tie. Given credit for the year that each study was completed its still amazing how far each researcher went pass ethical standards of today. While reading each study I tried to view each experiement from the researcher’s point of view, but this led me to a dead end of unanswered questions. Matter of fact, if anyone can answer how could Johnson have had such an emotional and burdensome history of stuttering, but turn around and expose other innocent and fragile children to such an experiment?…

In the same way, religion has also faced various challenges against government within the recent decades, especially considering issues involved with public education along with abortion. (Sekulow n.p.) In consideration that church and state (or any government authority) should remain completely separate from one another, there have been considerable amount of times where it has been an issue. Another example, some people will claim that abortion is wrong, vile and that both the state and nation should pass a law to ban the clinics and contraceptives, especially since it conflicts with their religious beliefs, in addition to health care professions given an option to refuse to provide and administer contraceptives or abortion services under…

Organizations with a strong ethical culture are characterized by acknowledging the duty to serve anticipating the demands and assuming their responsibilities before they are raised as complaints, or before the damage occurs. Thus, organizations are faced with the need to take proactive measures (anticipating events) to ensure the proper understanding and acceptance of their responsibilities and transmit it to society. This general requirement can be analyzed in different ways, and so often highlighted a series of "ethical needs" of organizations. First, organizations need to ensure confidence of society. One of the most important factors in an engineer’s career is abiding by their Code of Ethics as well as others ethics laid out in national Code of Ethics. Organizational Values and Codes of Ethics A mission statement, in my opinion, is like a road map. You can use your mission and values to set a course. Keeping that course can help you reach your goal/destination faster and easier. We can see in the example of Clay Walker that a mission statement can be derived from a very personal experience. JEAN E. PALMIERI (Dec 2011) explains how Clay took his firsthand experience and turned it into his life’s work.…
