BMW Ethical and Social Issues:
The Bavarian Motor Works (BMW) is a motor company based in Germany and is widely known for producing high quality vehicles. BMW was founded in “1916 by Franz Josef Popp in Munich, Germany and it mainly produced aircraft engines” (UK Essays) when it was formed. However, their circular blue and white logo is viewed by the BMW as the movement of propeller representing the white blades cutting through the blue sky.

WCRS has been the number one advertising agency of BMW since the early 1970’s. The company invests its lump some amounts of money for their cars in movies for example, James Bond who drove the new Z8 before the car was officially launched and the “mini cooper” in Austin Powers 3. These advertisement techniques have helped the BMW and its promotion strategies.
The pricing strategy that the BMW uses is based on several factors. “One of the most important trend is premium-tization” (UK Essays). “Premium-tization trend of BMW causes polarization of markets” (UK Essays). This sets off the consumers to demand and willingly pay higher prices for the quality. These systems were meant to prevent crashes but, a new study revealed that these car prevention systems are flawed due to computational errors causing more harm than before. Rather than applying the brakes and signaling the driver and predicting the crash, the vehicle is apparently accelerating into the threat.
In the past ten years BMW has been involved in environmental issues striving to maintain high goals of quality and consistency by finding ways to improve the environment. According to BMW’s plant in South Carolina, there has been a decrease in environmental factors such as “water consumption which has dropped by fifty five percent, energy consumption by sixty six percent and industrial wastewater by sixty five percent”. However, as BMW face the ethical and unethical issues mentioned above, there are ways that a huge company can tackle these problems. When it comes to the complicated safety system that the BMW installed in cars, they can make a statement on their website or send emails to the people who purchased the automobiles and let them know about the technical fault and or provide one month free checkup until they rectify the
