The two sounds were beginning to merge and gave off a devilish shriek, the noise made it clear that there was a car chase happening at this very moment. It was quite obvious the chase was soon to make an appearance judging by the screams and shrieks of women and children who feared for their lives. And now he saw it, the Mustang was on a high-speed chase from the nearby big city and has found its way to this city where it dangerously sped down the street trying to avoid capture. But there weren’t any tears and his face was completely dry, on the other hand is heart was now racing and felt like the palpitations would show through his body. The old man focused his vision to the same old busy friendly avenue.
The old man sighed in a depressed manner “So it happened again.”
His eyes extinguished its lively fire back to its cold mechanical gloss and he lowered his head. He began to slowly put one foot in front of the other, even doing something as effortlessly as breathing was a struggle because it equated with “living”. “There are millions of people in this world but why do I feel so alone?” The old man thought to himself.
The horrid scene from earlier was just one of the many vivid memories of the old man’s past that likes to constantly abuse the old man mentally and remind him of his losses. He struggle with this memory his whole life, he could never seem to catch a break. While he is awake he is constantly struggling with this intense memory replaying though his mind and at nights when you think he can finally rest peacefully; he is terrorized by the animated nightmare where he is locked up in his thoughts.
