Pixar Business Model

There are two different structures in which a large company such as Pixar can be organized in; Traditional and or a Contemporary business structure. Pixar is a contemporarily organized company; meaning that while the company still has a CEO and senior officers; the employees of whom do not have an official rank in the company still have major role to play in how their company functions. This differs from a traditional business structure in which you have officers and CEOs as well a rigid displacement of power, that is not always the best work environment for the employees. Since there is so much freedom among the employees maintaining a solid power base can be difficult at times.This however is a strength of Traditional Business model. The heads of the company exercise control over their employees by using the rigid balance of power to their advantage.Their is a clear sense of who 's in charge and who is subordinate in a traditional business model. However this tight control that the traditional businesses have also hurts them when it comes to adapting to changes, and catering to the happiness of their employees. In a contemporary business there are so many moving changing parts to a contemporary business that changes come much easier and are not hard to adapt to. This flexibility that is displayed in contemporary business allows the company to thrive. Contemporary business often are more employee friendly and have a much more fluid and open work environment. Contemporary business have not been as popular as the traditional company layout. the company is organized with a CEO and other important officers but in order to be most successful the company needs a fluid free flowing work environment in order to maximize the creativity of the movies they produce. The only way for the company to promote creativity and have a smooth work flow is to use a cross between the two business models otherwise known as a hybrid.
