During a recent study about finding the cause of why students are failing courses at MTC, I came upon three possible causes that can lead to this event. An increasing number of college students do not study seriously they figure that they have enough time to read all of the material that they have to study. In addition, they lack the knowledge of asking for help because it can be portrayed as a sense of weakness. Having a job can be some of life’s demands that can put a college student off track because of work hours and the time that your class starts. Being a college student comes with a lot of responsibility and it is a full time job because showing up for classes is not enough. College students have to put in the effort that is required

It can be quiet uncomfortable or tense waiting for your grades to come back after the effort that you made to complete a course. Being in a classroom can be disturbing when you hear other classmates sharing their grades with out loud and for some reason I seemed to be the only one listening. But, thank GOD, I haven’t given into my opinion of others and what they may think of me. Failing is not an option as is earning a passing grade in every course. We only get what we put into it. I know that it can be a personal struggle for some with having to care for a family member or perhaps maintain a job for a source of income in order to pay your bills, but learning and being a college student has to be taken just as seriously. Earning good grades has to be a mindset that students have to acquire, just completing your work so that your work won’t be late isn’t enough. In some cases students can fall into making a C grade instead of aiming for an A. Just like any task earning a good grade involves the usage of knowledge. Knowledge is understanding gained by experience. If you don’t have the knowledge at hand then there are resources such as the internet, and instructors to our disposal to further guide us. Some students fail to understand that each step in their education is part of the process of preparing themselves for what’s coming
