They are built for this type of program from the mission to the merchandise of the store. Employees at the management level are trained to look for ways to help veteran, homeless and low income. Conversation held with their staff show they have found ways to impart their vision and mission to their employee. Becoming a force in a major issue in our society would help establish a better name
Sears has not had much opportunity to really give much to the community because they have been in the red in profit earning for a while. They have not been big in any kind of community evolvement but are more devoted to energy saving. They also encourage member to volunteer to help with homeless gear, which they use to help cloth and support homeless. They would probably not do well with the protecting, forests, rivers and oceans. Unlike The Home Depot its doesn’t have the resources to head up a program unless they decide to hire an expert to head it up and with the volunteering and grant program they have it would spread them pretty thin. Helping veterans would allow them to just expand a vision of their already started Homeless gear program. They would just need to change the concentration to veterans.
