With adolescents constantly visiting the doctor, it is a known fact that most children show signs of pre-hypertension and hypertension. The biggest issue that most adolescents face is that they need to make conscious health changes to avoid obesity and stress. Most adults and parents believe that most children have nothing to stress about, they stress just as much as if not more than some adults. Children face stressors such being bullied by others, teachers who may not be as understanding or helpful, issues they may have going on at home, and many other things we might see as minor but they see as major. The stress factors mentioned can cause an adolescent to have high stress levels that may go unnoticed or ignored by a teacher, parent, or even a doctor. In a recent survey study, out of 89 pediatricians, less than 50% of respondents admitted they were not familiar with the most current published recommendations for diagnosing and treating pediatric hypertension (pediatric hypertension 129). Most health professionals tend to put their hypertension diagnosis on the back burner for children due to avoid the possible mistake or overexaggerating a simply spike in blood pressure. The disadvantage of avoiding a diagnosis causes an enormous amount of health issues that can occur as a reaction to never being properly diagnosed. The U.S. has always had an issue with maintaining and active lifestyle for children in school. Recess has been replaced with studying and other educational replacements. The educational replacements are great until it effects a child’s health and well-being. The rate of childhood obesity is growing in this country, and outside our current first lady’s effort I do not see anyone else trying to push kids to have more active and healthy lives. Every 3 out-of-five children are at risk for obesity (pediatric hypertension 129). With
