Technology and Teachers
Technology has become a revolutionary tool for education, by allowing the utilizing of information found on the World Wide Web. Teachers have adopted the digital age, by the use of various computer programs, and by incorporating the internet. Technology will never replace teacher, but “teachers who don’t use technology will be replaced by those who do”. (Trucano) Today teachers no longer only rely on the traditional methods of teaching, but now apply technology to their daily lessons. In many ways teachers have been both blessed by technology, and in contrast, have been cursed by technology. With the use of technology and “the internet has the potential to transform teaching: it enables the world to enter the classroom,

Even in physical education, technology is been utilized and implemented daily. For example, having a tablet in the physical education class can be used to watch video from sport expert, stay current on sports, and apply the new information into the class. Projectors, timer, calories trackers, learn new and different combined styles of exercise, or having access to a pedometer (step tracker) are all tools for the modern PE teacher (4). The article explores a study conducted to see what teachers choose to do to conduct their classes when they have no restrictions and limits, specifically in terms of technology. The study showed that despite the freedom to choose the tool of choice, teachers stuck with power points, which are the most basic “old school” way of teaching a class. Savasci concludes after the study that teachers must increase their “ knowledge and skills about how to use those instructional technologies and help them develop positive attitudes toward information and communication technologies”. This illustrates Cahn and Cahn’s sub-claim that schools and their teachers should branch out to innovative technologies for their students. The intended audience seems to be the generation older than the millennials given the subject and context of the study is very factual, but can definitely be intended for millennials as well because the language used is not difficult relative to other academic studies conducted.…

Due to the latest technologies, teachers need to change the way they assess students in order to uphold academic integrity. I want to introduce teachers to using technology for practical purposes while helping students capitalize on their creativity and individual uniqueness. Using technology for some practical purpose, and not for the sake of using technology, must be the clear objective. New technology learners are exposed at an early age. It’s important for teachers not to focus on integrating technology too much instead of focusing on learning in the classroom environment.…

In this article, a key idea that I read about was how integrating technology into the classroom is sometimes put on pause because of the teacher’s knowledge and experience with technology, pedagogy, and content (TPAC). The world is constantly changing and that is including technology. It is a teacher’s responsibility to change and grow with these changes that can be so important to student’s lives and help them to better their future and education. Technology is a complicated thing, but integrating it into the classroom betters the students because they are learning in a more fun and engaging way, rather than reading word-for-word from a textbook. Integrating technology into the classroom could start at watching a simple video clip about a topic or go all the way to doing a whole unit straight from computers and tablets.…

Technology--the plague of society to some, and heaven's greatest blessing to another. The perspective of it changes its meaning. To schools, this perspective becomes essential to the prospects of how much the education system, and even the public, may change because of it. While technology will, and has, brought vast opportunity to those with access to it, to pay the price of experience can be fatal to the next generations if there is not a balance of technology and human interaction within the education system.…

According to Sousa, “…children who spend their early years in front of screens will eventually have adult brains that are hardwired to process information at a frantic pace” (Sousa, 679). Technology has many positive aspects, but often gets a bad rap. According to Wedlock & Growe, “The problem is that technological innovations need to be transformed from tools of obsession into tools of education”…
