In this assignment I will review the different strategic options I would use as a CIO of Super Training Corporation. In order to move the delivery educational software platform to Software as a Service model I will need to lay out a very strategic plan that’s not only time sensitive, but also feasible .
Training Corporation is currently delivering software (educational platform s) via CDs and DVDs which is a very traditional manufacturing way. Not only Is this traditional method expensive, but it’s also time consuming. Super Training Corporation is looking for ways

Teams are now able to share knowledge, share ideas and also collaborate as a group and come up with solutions to issues. Outsourcing saves the corporation money in terms of getting talented resources at a way cheaper cost from all over the world and also allows for diversity in the company. In addition to that it has also created employment all over the world.
As the CIO of Super Training I will encourage outsourcing and have teams, both here in the US and outside the US. Both teams will need to work together in order to come up with a common goal. Our main goal would be efficiency and timely deliveries, as teams working in two different time zones we will need to balance out our tasks accordingly and make sure all items are delivered on time. This can be achieved by effective communication by use of communication tools like IM (instant messenger), WebEx, conference calls and also video calls.
Developers will be available and equally distributed on both sites accordingly. Due to the time difference the developers offshore will work on projects at night, the developers onshore will take over tasks during the day and our testers will also be based both offshore and onshore to allow for testing and validation not be

It’s imperative for the data operations to be in one location in this particular scenario as the CIO of super training I will prefer for the data operation center to be based here in the US.A recovery plan has to be clearly laid out in case of data loss or any other IT disaster .In addition to that, disaster recovery plans has to be built into project planning and what this basically means is that crisis management should not only be reviewed once in a while , but it should be exercised quite often so when a disaster happens the corporation is not caught off guard. Subsequently the company also needs to consider what steps are set in place in case there is total loss of service for instance when last year google users were unable to access Gmail ,the impact was quite heavy most people realized how much they totally relay on email to even run businesses. It’s imperative for the company to come up with a continuity plan in order for the application to continue functioning. Considering what impact the loss of service will have on the business for a few days or a couple of days will determine what disaster recovery plans to put in place. Super Training SaaS application will have a huge amount of educational content and regular data backup will have to be on top of the list. Frequent data backups can be made and data can be stored outside the

Its vice president of marketing and membership Leon Lassiter pushed the company to network its IT infrastructure and change to a unified software application called UNITRAK. The major problem was that until the push everything was in a silo structure where one computer with one operator did only one function, like sales or memberships. Unfortunately, there is only one person in the IT department and no one consulted with him on what software to buy nor is Lassiter the IT manager.…

Outsourcing has given companies a way to reduce the cost of operations, labor wages and also taking advantage of the reduce corporate tax rates(). For example a US company contracting employees from India to handle services can pay the employee a fraction of the price that they would pay an employee based out of the US. Another reason why companies have elected to outsource is because it has given them the opportunity access and hire world talent to handle their services; if a company is not an expert with a specific area such as IT and human resources (HR) they can contract an outside company to handle these services at a reduced rate. These key components listed leads to another main reason which is flexibility.…

Outsourcing, a process of hiring another individual or company, either domestically or internationally, to handle the business activities for the firm. At this era, it is no longer an option as much as it is a necessity and has become a common business practice that allows small and medium size businesses to gain extra services and skills that are usually hard for them to develop due to shortage of manpower or financial restrictions, or maybe both. It allows the firms to be more focus on their core competencies, rather than tying up considerable company funds in something that can easily and cost effectively be done somewhere else and, more importantly, it will surely help the firm to cut the costs and improve their performances efficiently…
