Career Planning Transition into the Professional Nursing Role
I wish to obtain employment in the state of Florida. The three criteria needed according to Florida Board of Nursing is, you need to graduate from a Florida approved or accredited nursing education program. Applicant has to submit an application with all fees paid. There is a $100 application fee and $200 fee for Pearson VUE testing vendor. You are also required to have an electronic fingerprint for RN license. One of the two choices I selected was Baptist Health South Florida. I really like this organization and I’m glad they welcome new grads with a sign-on bonus. Their requirements include a degree from an accredited school, BSN preferred or an associate’s degree but upon completion

I want the certifications so I can be more qualified, confidant and secure in my nursing profession. I want to grow in this profession because there is so much to learn and experience. I do plan on furthering my nursing profession to a master’s degree. I want to get my work experience first but afterwards excel in that advancement. I would enjoy to learn in all the different specialties such as intensive care, emergency, labor and delivery and oncology. I would like to grow and transition into a leadership role as I further advances in the years. I have a responsibility to further provide research, collaboration with other departments and valuable teaching tools so nursing can improve our standard of …show more content…
I would like to teach or train future nurses as I gain more development and experience. I want to be able to contribute to the quality patient-centered care we all deserve. I also want to become more involved in the nursing community and be part of the American Nurses Association so I can help make a change and impact past, current and future nurses. Given the importance of system issues in past policy development, public policy should ideally recognize the nurse’s role in an effective, safe primary care system (Contributions from Lifeworld 2009).
