Even though the law from Creon said that she could not bury her family member Polyneices because he attacked the city, she will not just let that be told to her and let it happen. Nobody would do that to their own family member and that is why Antigone tells Ismene to step in and help. Antigone says “There it is, and now you can prove what you are: a true sister, or a traitor to your family.” (Prologue, 25-27). Antigone is making this statement to tell her sister Ismene that they both must work together to do the right thing for their brother and family rather than letting Creon rule them. Antigone can never get another brother or sister or true parents so that is why she cares so much and will not give anything up to Creon to let him let Polyneices rot to death. Antigone says “Soon I shall be with my own again where Persephone welcome the thing ghost underground: and I shall see my father again, and you, mother, and dearest Polyneices – dearest indeed.” (Scene 4, 715 -719). This statement made by Antigone tells us that Antigone cares a lot about her family and knows that she will never have another brother, sister, mom, or dad and won’t see them until her death arrives. This quote tells and shows us how much Antigone cares about her family and nourishes the fact that Creon tries to take everything away from
